I'd be tempted to put in some collar ties since you modified those trusses. It won't cost you much in space or money since it looks like you have plenty of peak height. Put them up a little over 6 feet from the floor. Should add quite a bit of strength back.

Those are going in next, probably this weekend, I just wanted a floor to stand on first. The plan is to put them at 7'6", the original truss down members I cut will sit on them and I'll add straps to secure them. It added 3-5% more stiffness in the analysis. Lower works better as you surmised but the room is a lot nicer with a talker ceiling

I sheeted the corners...the nail plates should be fine, and each other the 2 corner sheets should be fine, so now it should be 3x ok and plenty safe.

The kids want a secret passage and I have some 3/4" floor sheeting left, I'll put that in next I guess before o move on to finishing up framing.

Lana when out Saturday to pick out the side doors.....and picked out the time for the bathroom floor instead :?

....so still waiting on what front and side doors to use.

When you do the wiring I'd consider putting the compressor up there and just about anything else that would free up floor space. Plus it will be a quieter place to work with the comp up there unless you are going to build a compressor shed?

When I first built mine I didn't have the proper electrical service to the garage. I put the compressor in the house and ran a long hose. It was great since I live alone. Anytime I was in the house the compressor didn't run and when I was in the garage I didn't care how noisy it was in the house.
