Ceramic tile can be done for about $1/sqft and doesn't burn.....seems slick and had to be prone to crack

Wow! I have never seen ceramic tile for that cheap. Can you recommend a source?

We have ceramic tile in a hallway and in a bathroom. They don't get slippery when water wet. I suppose an oil slick would be slippery, but I don't spill much oil (my leaky old cars have large galvanized steel drip pans under them).

I have heard it said that ceramic, and particularly porcelain tiles, when cemented down properly on concrete, are very crack resistant. I would love tile (and would use dirt-colored grout).

My garage is 735 sq. ft.

When I still built TV studios we used commercial epoxy, that stuff was fab. Professional cameras used to be pretty heavy on slim wheels, that stuff can stand it, also dead flat if done proper. Expensive though. Tiles you‘ll probably crack all the time, also pretty cold underfoot without heating.

yeah....you can't smooth a floor with a belt sander, that's just plain stupid and will probably just ruin belts and burn out the sander (not sure of its condition, the respirator I wore to deal with the dust did a good job keeping the burning smell away too).

Now I need to decide if I want to spend the money to rent a concrete grinder and smooth it out properly (about $300) or say heck with it and put the sealer on as-is.
