I think I need an autoclave.

I found a 200 gal compressor tank for $200.....if they still have it. So cut an end off and add flanges and the gut from an old over, wrap with insulation and I think it's an autoclave big enough to make ....oh I don't know....wheels maybe????

Because everyone needs an autoclave.

Wheels OTOH... there's a LOT of engineering that goes into wheels and even more that goes into composite wheels. I just happened to watch this this morning:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGGiuaQwcd8

IOW, I don't think I'd want to try composite wheels without them being designed by a composites engineer who understands how to design composite structures against specific load cases AND thoroughly modeled by someone who knows what they're doing in wheel modeling. A destructive test or two to verify the model's predictions would also be welcome. The consequences of failure in that structure are pretty severe and FRP engineering is complicated.

Of coarse you did. How hard can it be? Somebody has done it, why not Mark?
I get it, why pay for what you can do? Makes perfect sense.

To Wil's point though my though is I'll make at least 1 in WAY cheaper fiberglass to get the laying up sorted and if I think it's a good wheel then I break it and cut it open to be sure it was good......then the real ones. That's the plan anyway.

I have a whole package of rock wool insulation I can donate. I got it for a powder coating oven I was planning on building. I also just got rid of a 275 oil tank that was in great shape.

Sold it to some guy that is turning it into a BBQ grill. I was trying to figure out how much it was going to cost me to make it go away and then a friend told me to try and sell it. Had 10 calls in the first couple hours of guys begging to buy it and haul it away.

I also have a friend that follows your v12 build that's a used lab equipment dealer that probably has dozens of used ones if you want to just buy one?
