Current progress.... Walls are scraped of their "coral reef" inspired texture. Popcorn is gone too.... Most of the floors are ripped out and most of the trim is gone now too. Should be priming this week and start floating the walls and ceilings with skim coat this weekend. Party time!

Also forgot to mention that the house came with a free cat...who had just given birth to a liter of kittens. PO did not know they existed....They were buried under the carpet in one of the bedrooms. So fresh that they still had their umbilical cords and unopened eyes. Cute overload. It is the only way I can get the girl to come check out the house progress....so now I have 5 cats. One for each project car and the house....

What kind of a state/town tdo you live in that lets you just go fixing up your house anytime you please without a professionally licensed and insured contractor and a pile of permits on site???? It's looking good. Lana's got me signed up to remove a (bewaring) wall but I got a reprieve until fall so I can stay on the car.....speaking of cars....don't you have 3.5 cars + 1 truck you're supposed to be working on???? |

Just nice enough so your girl friend doesn't mind coming over but not nice enough that she wants to stay too long It looks like a 2 car garage? enough room to have your tools and work? But that only takes care of the car you're workiing on, what's the plan for the rest of them? |

Lotus are small cars! that is the beauty of them! A two car garage is for normal cars....you could fit at least 4 project lotus' in one.... I plan to finish the truck and sell it to re-purpose the funds.... I will still need a beater truck, but I am too hard on stuff to keep a nice shiny one. I got it to learn how to restore a car and it has served that purpose well! It is kind of funny...The house giveth and the house taketh. I got a free 1997 Dodge avenger with the house that I immediately sold for scrap. It also came with a mid 70's C10 in the back yard (it got landlocked because the neighbor repaired the fence and only put a single door on it)that has a bad tranny....can you say beater work truck?! I will probably add a dog run to the side of the house to park the shells temporarily. The yellow lotus is going to be sold as well. I am not going to restore it, just get it running patch up the necessary stuff and put it on ebay. My friend with the abandoned house has still not torn it down yet. I will see if I can get the JPS painted there and that will be one less car to worry about. The frame on that one is ready to be assembled and I could have a rolling chassis in a reasonably short time. I have a plan....sort of |

I think you made the right decision to buy the house. It has a lot of room and really spacious to boot. Though there's a lot to work on and I think it's worth it. Any update with this project? |
