Post subject:  Pumpkin Chuckin
New project with the kids....trebuchet to throw pumpkins.

The karate school does a pumpkin fest and this year they are letting families play in the pumpkin chuckin contest so we signed up. I went 2 years ago and the machine the schools build (they have 2 locations) were just plain sad and struggled to throw a 5-10lb pumpkin 25ft.

I think the trebuchet we're building will throw a 10lb pumpkin 100 yards. It will be portable and disassemble to transport and store. It will use normal barbell weights. more pics to come.

Knowing you Mark, you'll need orbital calcs to figure where in the next state they can find the remains of the pumpkins :lol: At the very least brush up on ballistics and the Coriolis effect :geek: :D

Kidding aside, that's a cool project and great way to spend time with the boys!
