Looks cool!

BUT, cant understand why ECUs have to be 1000euro.

I see loads of EE daily that has similar component count and board size that sell for just 50euro.

I dont think theres any reason why an ECU where the user builds the maps cant be made for 50euro, or even 100 MAX.

1000euro is just insane for what you are really buying.

I dont buy the 'Software is expensive' either - EFI exists for an age...a map that would get the car running should cost nothing at this point and not have to be written.

Dont take this post as a ''he thinks all EE components cost same'' - but in reality, they are more or less all the same cost, bar the unusual components.

When you buy an ECU the HW you get is worth like $80 for MS to $300 for motec ...everything else is the software.

Have you seen my build your own ecu forum? ;)

I need to pick this project back up once the V12 is running

Brian,

and when you do you've see we're using this:
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/sit ... K-MPC5634M

WAY more powerful and cheaper too :)

An ECU with 12 fuel/12 spark, 10-20 optional outs can be assembled for about $350 with off the shelf stuff.....we just need to finish the software :(
