I got some hardware in the mail.
I'm trying the Plugin demos they have available for download and PythonQT demo doesn't want to install. Does EL offer any kind of support?

Congrtats!

AEM or EL hardware? I'd assume EL HW is ready to go, AEM will need to bew registered and I assume you'll need to load the EL FW...which will wipe out the AEM model so you'll want to use'll probably want to connect with the EL software and figureout how to make a copy, then I'm told it takes some work to get it sorted into something you can work with but its just time mostly.

Either way I suppose Jim is your support person.

When I first got mine I was asking for an operating manual of some kind and got pointed to the web page, any other question Jim answered.

Its an Infinity 506 so I'll need to request EL to get it unlocked. How does that work exactly? Does EL Console "call home" to check if a particular serial number is allowed?

Sortof. All the FW is serial number specific. There should be a tag on it somewhere, I think there was also a card in the box that came with mine with the number on it. Also there is a program called AEM Tool that when it connects displays the number.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure AEM is using V96 SW/FW where the rest of us are now on V97. V97 can read V96 files but it can't create them I don't think....there is an autor convert that mostly worked when I upgraded. The biggest difference is that in V96 time is in 1/10 usec and in V97 its msec...easier for the machine vs easier for the human.

Hi, I've been lurking and reading these forums for a bit and had some questions regarding my own build with a AEM 308 Ecu. I understand its been some time and AEM has seemed to disappear from the ECU world. I've tried contacting those at engine lab and jim directly through the email but haven't got a response back in a few weeks so I was wondering if I could pass some things by you or through? I just made this account so I can't send DMs.

Hi, New here but I've been lurking the form for a bit and was wondering if I could get some help/direction. I've tried contacting Engine Labs from their website and Jim from the posted email but I've gotten nothing back. I've got a 308 Ecu and I'm trying to run a GM 3800 V6 for a engine sawp. I've got most of it down except on the AEM software it doesn't allow for custom crank/cam patterns that I would need (3x hall crank, 1x hall cam. Should have done more research). I've gone through the software and found a data table that it pulls from and managed to possibly make a custom pattern but I'm not 100% if it would work and want to talk to someone experienced with it since it looks the software might also pull from other data files that are compiled. Not sure if you know anything or would be able to help me get in touch with the engine lab guys. The swap is pretty barebones sensor wise but I just need to get the crank/cam signals down. Not sure if the modifications I've done would work or if I need to convert to the EL firmware, I just want to get it running at this point.

My though it if you tell me exactly what the crank pattern is, I can plug it into the EL software and let you know if it works. On the list I see GMLS7, GMLFX, GM Ecotech LFX...Hall v relutor it doesn't really care, you can set up which pins have what siganal as long as the ECU you have has the number of inputs you're trying to use its fine. Last resort is you could add a custom trigger wheel with a standard missing tooth patter. Good luck!
