Have there been any updated consoles you can share?

Welcome.

Yes, there have been 4 or 5 small revs that fixed a couple little bugs, a bunch of refinements, and added 6 or 8 features I requested to make it a bit easier to work with as well as. There is also a pretty major rev almost ready....but I'm not sure I can distribute them, let me ask. I'm trying to get them to have the current rev on their site and I think they are going to but haven't done it yet.

There is a download available on the enginelab web site now...no need to ever use outdated versions :)

Are there any v96 versions of EL Console floating around? I'm trying to troubleshoot an error that prevents EL Console V97 from opening a specific V96 session. Thanks!

I think the best thing to do is shoot Jim an email explaining the issue, but I do have this in my V96 folder.....I'm pretty sure its obsolete so.......the number seems too high to actually be v96 so I'm not sure....I basically never used v96

Thanks! Of course V96 gets me another error that I'm not familiar with. Do you have a good email for Jim? I'm just getting started with EL Console here and didn't notice email contact info on the website, except for a form. Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out a workaround for the following error: "Item [DBW_ThrottleCurve2]: Download failure. Reason: STATUS_CONFIGURATION_HEAP_MEMORY_FAILURE_STR
ððð ð
ð ð ð
ððððððððððððððððððð ð!ð"ð#ð$ð%ð&ð'ð(ð)ð*ð+ð,ð-ð.ð/ð0ð1ð2ð3ð4ð5ð6ð7ð8ð9ð:ð;ð<ð=ð>ð?ð@ðAðBðCðDðEð"

This occurs upon trying to open the previously-mentioned session. Is there perhaps a means by which to open the session files outside of EL Console to edit/troubleshoot them? Thanks!

So it was V96 and not an early V97? I didn't want to uninstall my version to test it

I'll pm you jim's contact info.

Can I ask if you're just getting started where did you get the model you're trying to open? Is it AEM? I know they can be tricky as they are quite large.

Do you have actual enginelab hardware?

and most important what is the project? :)

Yes it was V96 but it gave me a header error for every file that I tried to open.

I'm just getting started on this project - I originally purchase an AEM Infinity ECU years ago to run a BMW S54 engine transplant that I'm building. I've recently tried to come up with a more concrete plan of inputs/outputs and CAN connection to the vehicle/engine. Having gone through the AEM manual for this application and the available inputs/outputs, I've been pretty disappointed at the currently-available functionality through the original AEM session. Having found EngineLab, I've discovered the almost endless possibility to implement the functionality that I've wanted. This includes, but is not limited to:

Wastegate top can pressure control with MAP target
Bosch LSU 4.9 or other sensor (Bosch indicates the CJ125 chip can drive the ADV sensors as well)
Custom CAN messages to factory CAN components (may investigate communicating with serial components as well)
CAN inputs via third-party CAN modules to add inputs/outputs to the ECU to control additional functions
Fuel Injector low pulse width compensation
Investigate utilizing unused coils/injectors for other purposes
Build water/meth failsafe logic into ECU
Fuel temp compensation from ethanol content sensor
Adding additional dimensions to existing tables
Etc.

The current hardware that I have is an AEM series 7 ECU or the EL129 ECU. My current hope is to open the original AEM session file (still struggling to do this) to being reverse-engineering some CAN communication and the AEM adapter harness included with this package (used to drive dual variable cams). Then I'd like to be able to add new functionality and communication with additional components. I like the idea of pushing the bounds of what's currently possible and not settling for what AEM has currently developed - the updates have been slow in coming and, as noted above, are missing quite a few features that I'm looking for.
