That engine looks to good to be installed in the car. Just get a couple of milk crates and a board and place it in the family room. :D

Mark - I have been following your build for a few years now but haven't chimed in for a while. Congratulations on getting to this point - I have always been impressed with your determination to see this through to completion. I have a question concerning the oiling system which I may have missed in the early threads - how does the oil get from the pump to the cylinder heads? Were you fortunate enough to have the oil passages in the block line up with those in the heads?
I was wondering if it might be a good idea to hook up and fill the oil system right after mounting the engine, before hooking up everything else. You could spin the engine on the starter to build oil pressure and make sure oil was getting everywhere it needs to in the heads. Did you already have in mind to do this?

Gary

No - I wasn't lucky......I had to drill new passages in the block.

Yes - I will crank the engine to prime the oils system before I even think about turning on spark and fuel. I was actually pondering installing the starter next and making sure the starter can spin it and that the pump works before the engine leaves the bench....great minds think alike it seems :)

Also another watcher (from down under) for quite a few years, have managed to find you no-matter where you went..

So fantastic to see the Engine at this stage. A bloody masterpiece!

So looking forward to the moment of successful fire-up & then later vids of it underway. (Or should I save that word for the Lincoln V12 Boat project?)

Again, one of (if not the best) automotive projects on the internet, so thanks for the entertainment & awe.

I know!

I'll put the diff in tonight I guess.

I'm re-thinking my work order plan a bit. I really want to move on the sorting out what goes where in the engine bay and start making that stuff.....which mean I get to put the engine in the car :)
