Te BMW V12 is hardly inspiring... that's why I advocate Mercedes V12'... 400 HP out of the box, not much more expensive than BMW engines and built in vastly larger numbers.

However, if you ditch the valvetronic and convert to mechanical throttles, BMW's N73 6.0 is a 450 HP enigne.

With benefit of 10 years of hindsight, the Merc motor would have been the better choice, but I was drawn to the BMW because of all the glowing success stories about people picking them up for a song, putting a bit of money into them, and then stuffing them into exotics and Lambo kitcars. Back in the early 2000's you didn't hear/read of many Merc swaps; it was all about these BMW's.

To an extent I'm talking out my tailpipe, as I've never actually swapped either V12. I'm quite familiar with engine swaps in '80's and '90's BMW's, but haven't done anything with Mercs yet.

Parts are starting to roll in. John sent the TB, clamp and injectors he wants to use. The Alum tubing to extend the runner length will be here Mon or Tues then it will be time to cut and weld!
