Is not the sole purpose of the o-rings on those tubes to let water into your oil so you think the motor has sh*t itself??

John

Well, I was feeling bad about wasting my time on steering with the engine sitting and checked on my mcmaster order for the lapping bar......it jumped back up to 3-4 weeks with Apr 6 the date....plenty of time to finish the steering

OK other than still no lapping bar....mcmaster said April 6-12, on 12 they said 12-13, today its "this week". This is all a problem because as they delay and I did fill-in tasks, that still count as car time it turns out, the car time window has pretty much closed and it seems I now owe Lana quite a few pretty large construction projects.

She got a great deal on a kitchen fridge that doesn't fit in the cabinet opening so might as well add a wall oven
the basement needs a floor
said floor means building new stairs, might as well made and finished to match the set in the foyer
while I was playing car she was collecting parts for a basement bathroom, and now that I know the floor height I'm out of excuses to not install it.
thought doors I put in last spring lead out to gravel that needs to be a stone patio.
just think how much nicer the kitchen would look with a transom window over the sliding door.
the 1st floor hardwood is in desperate need of refinishing

This feels like a mafia 10-12 to 1 loan repayment plan..........

Well, you are still kicking, that is all that counts. You have mad skills and will get it all done in due course. I like seeing your house projects too.

Sounds like you need to teach Lana to help with these projects. No reason she can't learn to tape, spackle, sand and paint. I've done this myself and it helps with scope creep since she has to work too.

That is a great way to NEVER get them finished ;)

A buddy from the FASE days is setting up an RX8 with a GM V6 for endurance racing.  There were some oil pan clearance issues, he sent me a couple pics and asked questions about cutting and welding it.....eventually I told him send it if you can't get it welded thinking it was just weld a plate over the hole he cut......what showed up looked like a jigsaw puzzle and took a solid 7 hours to put back together...Lana is so mad.

The big one was just the drain plug not tight enough but the other.....I found a tiny black dot at the base of the weld on a bolt tube

When I ground it out bubble was hiding. I rewelded it yesterday and its all dry today so back to ferrari parts.....although mcmaster is still only saying "expected delivery this week" on the lapping bar. :?

...and Lana is saying all the window screens need to be replaced :(

Lana bought me a really nice saw yesterday....since I already have a miter saw I'm almost scared to find out what I'm building her for mother's "day". To be fair it could just be to speed up the stuff I already know about....

Mcmaster is now saying the 13th on the lapping bar
