Kevin, Kevin, Kevin.....there's no logic involved in any of this. The discussion a couple days ago was about how to keep the floor at the temp Lana's imagining there is a good chance a lot of the time we'll be running the floor heat to make the floor feel water AND running the AC at the same time to make the air temp right.
....I've already resigned myself to that becoming reality.
We also talked about how echoey the space has become with hard walls, ceiling and floor and how that is BAD for the theater and generally annoying but that doesn't impact the tile talk in any way...because tile is forever and we won't need to worry about kids going from the pool to the basement. On one hand we say its just the basement then immediately on the other its part of the house.....so there is no clear plan and no way to make the required compromises anywhere in the design....one space is the ping-pong-poker table-gym-"wouldn't a fire place be nice here" room as I understand it, clearly that's impossible in a 17x14 space so I guess whatever gets setup first wins? don't know.
....a few more days of mud work, then a coat of primer and it will be drop-death time for the floor decision or progress stops next week.
