There's the oil! Leaked past the return pump into the sump....its been a year and a half but not sure if that's normal or not?

What didn't see was coolant so maybe the teaspoon or so I saw in the tank was left from leaking head mess... .it doesn't seen like a real concern if i don't find more when 8 look closer at what came out the sump

I drained the coolant and it looks clean. I really don't remember how much it holds so I'm not sure if I'll get a bath when I start disconnecting stuff.....I'm kind of just assuming a bath is coming.

What a pain in the ass when you get corrosion.
You got humidity in the garage? I run a humidifier in the summer. It helps.

When the car got booted from the basement it went to the attached garage....to live with the bikes and mower and scooters and a door thats only closed at night....so completely un controlled climate. Not helpful.

My fear is that the new shop will be seen as garage 2 so I've started to begin the conversations about tools, equipment, and my car get ruined when left in an uncontrolled space. Its ok to keep the mower in the shopp but but door is opened to take it out or put it away, not while iyou're mowing and until you're done. We'll see how that goes.....

I'll have to say I never thought about a dehumidifier for the shop.....that's not a bad idea. Again it only works if the door is closed but hopefully that won't be an issue going forward. The electric heaters are running full time now so temp is stable and the air is dry but come summer I'm not sure where the HVAC system install will be...its $3k just to buy the stuff and there is a long list of thinks waiting for money at the moment so I my end up with a window AC unti to get though the summer.

As much as I wanted to get going on pulling the engine I was just too tired last night....I got to bed pretty late Sunday so I just didn't make it to the shop last night and tonight I think I have a soccer thing so not sure. My current goal is to have the engine out and head off this weekend so I can see where else money is needed....gettng a piston is probably 8-16 weeks this time of year so I need to get it ordered is as I suspect I need 1.

I only got about 2 gallons of gas out of the tank.....I thought there should have been a lot more. Now I wondering if the fuel pump was bad or just not enough fuel?...... 2 gal seems like plenty to pump right but... .

Edit: oh, and the shop now freaks of gasoline, as it should!

Got some input (thanks FoaTech) that as I suspected the oil draining into the sump is normal....one thing off the worry list.

Not convinced the new floor is fuel proof :(

It clearly got through the sealer and it seemed sticky as I was wiping up the fuel....second yes, minutes no it seems.

So excited for you, glad to see you are back at it. ;)

P.S. learning all kind of good stuff with the simulation.

Lana was ...."explaining" to me last night that she does not share our excitement to get the ferrari project rolling again and was less happy (if that's possible) when I mentioned that I probably need to order a piston and a few other things :(

we are expecting a build thread that begins with lots of simulation screen shots ;)

if you haven't found it yet type snip into the lower left windows box and up will pop "snipping tool" that lets you quickly select and save any portion of the screen for easy posting.
