I just went in and updated my task list/plan with the extra hours I burned on the heads. It still says the engine will be finished in Feb but the car running date is now mid June. I turn 50 in early June so I've kind of been working toward making a running car my birthday present to me....I need to pick up the pace a bit it seems.

50 you say.........still a spring chicken and wet behind the ears :D

Wish I was 50 again...

Heads done - major milestone Mark! Good to see that we (that's the royal 'we') are back up and running.

I got some shop time tonight.

The oil line had to go on before the head but I don't know the length so what I did was install a 20" loop that I can cut later. I always put a little mark on the hose so I know if it moved during assemly and a little never sieze on the thread because I've has then gall a couple times without it.

Then the heads when on. Big night.

The intent is permanently......I hope it's permanently

I was a little scared be the way one of the head bolts felt torquing down but I gave it another tug this morning on a fresh brain and it felt perfect.....maybe just some dirt or I was just tied.

On to bigger and better things.

The 2 big items left on the engine are installing the timing case and the finishing up the drop gear case planned at 20 hours each. After that the engine is basically done with just a couple all smallish items left on the list like the cam end covers :D

The plan for tonight is to figure out what parts I have and what parts I don't have for the timing case and try to have everything on hand to get rolling on it over the weekend.

My grand plan , was to graft a 360 motor on top a 308 gearbox :o  . Can't say I have got very far , collected quite a bit of the parts . Your 360 rods came from the one motor and John's ( Ferraripilot ) 360 crank for his 308/360 came from the same motor . I'm changing my focus at work and may be able to find the time to get somewhere . Problem is our cars are getting more and more valuable  . So must be able to put it all back to standard with the drysump/carb ( ) motor .

I do have another project which is a V12 Lamborghini Espada , that needs an engine rebuild . If you will allow Lambo's on here ( at least it's a V12 ), maybe I will start a thread ??

Yes start a thread!!!!

My thought is a place where ANY cool project is welcome rather than everything spread around the web by brand/type.
