I'm still playing with the forged monoblock design and its getting close....currenty 26.5lb, the 18x10.5 550 wheel is 25lb on my bathroom scale to compare, the 17x9 BMW wheel 27. I'm close.

The wheel guy asked what I do so I sent him a link to the project and got a very nice "we definitely want our wheels on your car" note back so this is looking like a done deal....as soon as I find enough time to finish the design work that is.......

Do they do any smaller stuff? I'm always looking for a better 15x7 wheel option than Enkei RPF1s for club racing.

I'd appreciate it, if it's not too much trouble. Obviously just at the tirekicking stage of things.

I figured out the problem with my model that wasn't letting add fillets the way I wanted, yay.

Then I need the front modeled and there are 2 forgings that will do the rear, the one I grabbed and another that might be a better match to the front forging....or if I switch the fronts to 8.5 I can get an exact forging family match....need to think about how to proceed

I got the design moved to the other forging and I like it better. It looks exactly the same outside but the bead clearance area is different and saves a bit of weight....24lbs now

This is the other forging, same design. This forging can give a bit more brake clearance, but I don't need it and it adds weight (24.5lb)and weakens the wheel a bit.

hmmmm...the design really doesn't work on the forging that has an 8.0" rim option. I guess I'll stick with the other forging but use an 8.5" front....I have 8.5" on it now, not the end of the world I guess

A couple weeks ago I started a final check of the wheel design and realized I pasted the rim sketch incorrectly so the rim dimensions were wrong. That mistake is now fix.

I still need to get the center cap mount correct and correct bore to match the car hubs. The bigger concern I have is the wheel bolts. Right now they are recessed about 30mm vs stock wheels they look to be right at the face. I could just use long bolts I guess and get the look right, I just hate adding material to the wheel and bolt that isn't needed.....I probably just need to get over my concern or drill out the material from the back a bit.
