I'm thinking maybe 5mm deep on the bolt pockets is ok looking I think...maybe it could go a little deeper. I need to double check the length needed to engage the front and rear hubs properly to be certain there are off the shelf bolts available.

Also I have enough metal on the forging to add a short center cap boss that doesn't look bad, way shorter than OEM but more than is needed to clear the front bearings since this wheel design basically has a spacer built onto it to get caliper clearance.

My plan was to do a final measurement check for bolt length and center emblem mounting last night but by the time I got home I completely forgot about it  ....maybe tonight I'll remember so I can get his order rolling and off my to-do list. I think these wheels will be a nice change.

I checked the bolts in hubs and its like 22mm front and 18mm rear so I'll make the pockest like 8mm deep to be sure the 80mm bolts work in front. easy.

I realize I never added valve stem holes....but google says the common sizes are .453" and .625", not sure which to use?

edit - the porsche forum says speedline uses .453 so I guess that's the winner

hmmmm....In my quest for weight reduction it looks like I kind of eliminated the surface where the 308 wheel mounts the valve stem. :?

I guess it will have to be ok some where else.....

The spot they picked was basically the OEM spot whic I really don't think will work without me doing some redesign to widen the landing area. I think OEM is 20+mm and mine is 10mm

China says 25-30 days delivery. Trying to find out if the quote includes paint or powder coat, they said they can do either but I'm not sure if its quoted. Also trying to find out how hot the powder coat is and if it softens the wheel.....I want powder but don't want bent wheels.

Next comes the challenge of getting the PO approved

Post subject:  Re: Welding wheels

I was asked asked if I could do 17x8 and 17x9. I reached out the the manufacture and there are forgings available that will work so the answer is yes. I need to finish up the design and he needs to measure up what offset he wants and double check caliper position....I'll place the order in about 2 weeks so I cam move on to other projects. If anyone else wants in they are $600 each plus $300 shipping from china and tariffs (set of 4), then shipping to you. I'll post the finish design, the request was make it more OEM looking where the spokes meet the rim which I'll do but it will add a pound or 2 so 22.5lbs for the 17x8 right now will, probably change to about 24lbs. The 9" will be a pound or 2 more but I haven't started that design yet so don't hold me to it. A 9" wheel will not fit without aftermarket rear springs the 2.5" or 2.25' ID type.

These "circular display stands" will be not for highway use, no DOT markings, use at your own risk with no promises about anything made or implied.

edit - forgot if you want 18s they are the same price.....the 8.5" will fit, 10in requires the rear lower shock mount be modified or you need flares. I could also do a 9 or 9.5 if someone wants that.
