I welded up a couple more holes tonight. There seems to be just 1 tiny leak left!.....in the first head anyway. Then something might open back up when i clean the welds.....

I get held up at work last night and Lana and the kids walked in before I cold sneak to the shop...so no welding last night :(

One day this weekend though will be car day! I need to order a new intake seat before Ican finish this head.....I found about a 1 inch long crank below the seat I had to weld which looked ugly but was no problem other than the seat had to come out and I need a new one but was kind of waiting to order it to see if the other head needed any too.....I'll figure that out this weekend so the order can go out.

Other than theseat crack and a crack near a guide hole, the other holes were all porosity issues, little bubbles in the weld zone so worry a little I'll open more up when I cleanup the ports.....we'll find out soone enough though and I'll just keep welding untitl its fixed.

Reg, i answered yesterday on the thread you started for this question
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=198

Anything that can cause the timing belt to shift can cause bent vavles....certainly the cam belt drive would be on the list

The tiny leak wasn't so tiny once I knocked the guide out....there was a defect in the cast leaking around the guide.

Right now though there are no leaks in the head at 60 psi. All my safety glasses disappears to nerf battles I assume so I had to run out and grab more before starting grinding.....but I try to get the grinding done today. One thing I've found though is often when I hit a leak with the grinder is it mostly stops leaking until I sand....so its finished before I know if it need more welding,

I ordered a couple new intake seats yesterday. I only need 1 but I figured they're cheap and best to be prepared.

If I can get out of work on time tonight I'll try to re-cut the guide holes and maybe have time to prep the seat hole.
