Car time has been a pretty...ummmm...serious topic of discussion in my house recently. It's not just you that's notied my car time lacking the past few months. I guess last year's winter/spring push followed by failure and engine back out burned out both Lana and I a bit and while I thought the push would continue to get it done that was not to be and honestly I didn't fight back al that hard until recently.....I hate to say it but I just want this project to end at this point.

That's life right?

Not a VERY exciting pic tonight......just a clean bench and clean parts that were on the bench.

The vendor I buy from is very responsive......but their supplier is another story. They do make really nice stuff but something is getting lost in their quality systems or conterfeit parts are in the supply chain. Way back on the first order everythign looked right but when I opened the exhaust seat packages I had 20 and then I had 4 a slightly bifferent color, OD, and the printing on them was different size/font. I bought 4 more and they matched the 20 exactly.

When I went to put the springs in I found 1 set of 8 spring kits had different design retainers...but they were functionally equivalent so I used them.

When I ordered the replacement valves the intakes were just flat the wrong valves dropped in the package.....38mm instead of 34mm. The replacements that arrived were correct.

Now with the exhausts its like the seats. 4 valves have looking bag but different size/font part number/size info, different size/front markings on the valve itself, and are the head design of the intakes not the other exhausts.

I probably won't use this supplier again.

Maybe you need to have a companion in the workshop with you?

Actually at the rate this thing is going, his son will be able to take over the whole shop by himself !

The older one asked last night if he could help. He tried to help a couple times recently but I didn't have work he could really do.....but now its assembly and I'm sure he can put oil on valve parts and drop them in the holes.
