It actually is pretty easy...a lot like playing play-doh :)

Next up turn around a bolt hole in the pump housing. I probably could have counter-bored it but thought it would look more like it belonged if I filled it and brought the bolt to the surface....and added a flange because I can ;)

I moved the trans oil fill plug for the side and up against the fuel tank to the top....a little more clean-up and I can reinstall the cover and that should be it until the valves arrive.

Who doesn't right? :)

No valves yet today.

I cleaned up the trans cover, re-installed, and topped up the trans oil. Yesterday I ordered more M8 threaded rod to make longer studs for a few spots where I added clip or something and that came this morning so I took care of that. Also a couple studs popped out on the timing cover when I torqued it last time so I put in a few helicoils and re-checked to be sure all the studs go as deep as they should.

The floor is swept.......I'm ready for valves.

Art

It might be time to see if Art can work any magic.......or at least make the kibblewhite people as unhappy as I am right about now.....i have to burn a bunch of vacation days or loss them, i was really hoping to use them reassembling the engine

Ahh well there's your problem... kibblewhite... While supertech doesn't do custom valves they will at least give access to the entire database to find something that will work if needed. Other then that I do have contacts to get custom valves made by one of the suppliers to ferrari.. but you didn't hear that from me

The valves made it yesterday and I had time to get them cut to length. Today I had to do brakes on Lana's car whichh turned in to a bit of an adventure but I still found time to grooves and lap the valves, assemble 7-12 head and lead-down test it. It's good.

Tomorrow I'll assemble the other head and hopefully set the lash and install them.....depends on how much patience Lana has for me I guess....lets hope a lot :)

They make good stuff and these were catalog items (blanks), the problem was old stock kicking around the country and KW having no idea it was out there....and getting someone on the phone who could sort out the issue.

They do make good stuff, but from an engineering collaborative effort... well.. that was a like pulling teeth. Look I get that we do onesies and twosies and maybe some small run stuff but to be rude and completely unhelpful to a not just a customer but another business looking to work with you?? I've got better things to do with my time then chase after people like that.
