The new timing light finally arrived, it looks pretty nice, hopefully it also works well.

I also snuck into the garage and looked at the plugs....1-3, 10-12 look pretty good but lean which is what I expected. 4-6, 7-9 were pretty gas fouled. All the cylinders get the same amount of fuel and I had the throttles open pretty far most of the time so it unlikely a slight mis-tuning in the TBs.....that is strange. I need to re-check timing at every cylinder. I put different color marks on the flywheel every 60 degrees but I since lost the key so I'll need figure out that part first. No time for that now hough, Lana could be home any time and I need to be cleaning when she gets here. :(

Wait, I just remembered I had a fuse blow in the ignition, which is on 2 20A circuits and was confused why I still saw spark front and back.....I may have wired the coil power right/left instead of front/back as I'd intended....that would explain the right/left lean/fouled issue. I need to check that too.

At least it would be an easy fix....just always install both fuses :)

I remember checking #6 and seeing it wet....it doesn't take much to glaze a plug over so it won't really fire and it gets worse from there.....a fiat I used to have was horrible for this during tuning, I don't know how many sets of plugs I went through before I just pulled the 1.5L and installed an 8.3 liter :)

Anyway, hopefully this coming weekend I can get back to the car and hoepfully it will run GREAT this time with no more fires.

I snuck into the garage, loaded the updated version of the ECU model, turned the key and it fired right up. It didn't seem to rev so I shut it off to confirm the throttle was working, it was, but I was sitting sideways to watch the engine so maybe my foot wasn't really on it. I checked and the 6 rear pipes had heat in them for sure so that is good.....but it was not interested in restarting. A quick check showed wet plugs......key off for today while everything drys out.....we wouldn't want a fire.

So the error I found in the model will make it richer and the fact the it fired right up with the temp at around 10C followed by wet plugs tells me its a tad too rich right now. I need to find my battery charger and get it charging so the next time I have a window of opportunely its ready to go.

Lana seems to like the powder room remodel so that's a step in the right direction.

I think I just found a large error in the clt correction math.....this has nothing to do with first start issues becasue it was turned off but for sure has to do with wet plugs the other day. I have made so many changes in the ECU code I need to go though and confirm the math on everything befor eI try it again.
