The #4 coil was going for months....it would mis after hard acceleration and be fine id I restarted the engine.....then mild acceleration....then any acceleration. Cyl 3 with the new coils was opposite, it fired under acceleration and missed at cruise and restart was more likely to cause the problem then fix it. Hopefully just 2 bad coils.

I cranked the ferrari this morning with the fusses out of the injectors and coils a bit to be sure all the fuel is out and everything dry. I still need to load the new code into the ECU before it's ready to try again, and will clean up the 1st set of plugs today so I have a spare set ready to go. Thursday is karate day and should be nearly 70F......so I should be able to give it a go Thursday afternoon.

When the cat is away, the mouse will...load the new ECU model :)

I took off Thurs/fri to work around the house and I'm pretty sure there will be time when the paint is drying to fire this pig up :)

I got it to fire, but it wasn't on long enough to get a video....I was just too busy watching everything. Then I fouled the plugs.

It seems to want a LOT of fuel to fire.....then I see it go from dead lean as it should be when its not running to pig rich on both the WBO2 so those are working. Again it seems to have fired up on all cylinder on the back for sure and I assume also in the front or that O2 sensor would read lean and for sure the pipe running back is warm. All good.

I need to change the plugs and maybe think about turning on the the crank enrich feature so I can drop the fuel as soon as it fires up.....it sure is ornery at the moment.

Last time it was running long enough to see 10-15C rise in coolant temp.....that's something...and the coolant is still where it belongs are far as I can tell so thats something too :)

I think what I'm going to try next is setting the VE very high at cranking rpm and turning the Coolant temp correction I was using as a global correction down to more typical numbers. I need to keep it running long enough to get the coolant up to temp, so I can start getting the VE table close to where it wants to be.....then go back and work on start and warm-up......but it has to start and warm up so it's a bit of a challenge. A few more sets of spark plugs and I should have it.

Raw cold start is always a PITA, always! Normally I run them at first start around 2500~3000 rpm it's a lot easier to maintain and is less stress on the cams, etc.. Once warm then like you said. This last 4L build was done on the dyno, the dyno operator uses a heated water tank, so the coolant is already nice and warm and we cycled it thru for a good hr before start-up that really sped things up.
