If you have other heavy stuff going up there, consider installing a trap door and winch.

I'm a little worried about putting too much weight up there...maybe way at the other end opposite the compressor.....

Interesting. You may be on to something with this sealer stuff. I just checked and tinted sealer is readily available. Tinted sealer might be the way to go for me to blend my old oil stained conrete with the new part.

Is the attached garage floor conventional concrete paint?

I honestly wasn't sure what exactly tinted sealer was exactly? I didn't see it with the sealers on the manufacture's site for the stuff I was looking at, but then did see is at lowes and homedepot made by the paint brands so I was confused and decided against it just because I don't like to be confused.

The attached garage is rustolium epoxy. Its hard, it doesn't seem to stain when I still stuff.....but it lifted under the tires pretty quick and that's been spreading. We washed, etched, washed the floor....maybe roughing it up a bit like I just did in the shop would have helped it stick?

Welding station online. The cord on the chiller was in really sad shape so I spent a couple hours replacing it.....not wanting to set fire to the new shop....

Huh? I thought the whole point of building the garage was so that you could light things on fire without burning down the house. ;)

That is the point of the detached shop along with s
Keeping shop smells out of the house....... but I'd still prefer to NOT burn the shop down.

Almost everyone I know that has painted their garage floor with epoxy has had it peel up. The way to do it so it lasts is to rent a machine that sort of looks like a floor sander that is filled with steel balls. I think there is a rotating drum inside that fires the steel balls on the concrete and then sucks them back up into the hopper and does a real nice job of removing the top surface as well as leaving a rough surface the epoxy will adhere to.

I've seen them do this at auto shops and it lasts forever. Just wear safety glasses because a few of the steel balls escape every once in a while at high velocity.

It's now very white in the loft. Last night I used up what was left of the oil based primer/sealer I had from sealing the basement to seal the OSB on the floor, once the dries I'll paint over with floor paint...grey i guess. The walls still need another coat, the compressor room needs a door, and I need to build some shelves.....still a long list.

The shop work continues.....

With the drywall installed the compressor is about as tight a fit as the v12

Loft paint is done. Stair paint done. I bought some 3/4 plywood to do built-in shelves but didn't get to yet.....paint took forever it seemed.
