Sadly this update is still just wall pics. It was a weekend of hard work, kind of amazing how easy it is to mistakenly build a curves wall and how hard it is to build a curved wall on purpose. But they say rain Wed so maybe car work. I did order new burners for the grill which will need to be working right to heat the heads to let me install the guides and seats.

Sadly Wednesday's rain turned into figure out what all I still need for the basement duct project but this morning the 10 day forecast is showing 6 or 7 days of rain coming so shop time MUST be headed my way. The new burners for the grill arrived, trying a new type so I need to make sure they work right so its ready for head heating. In the mean time.....more digging as I put 4 tons of gravel and a drain pipe behind the new wall to be sure its a planter not a pond.

Slightly of topic but today I worked out how completely daft I am. Like most I have been following this since the beginning. Over the same period I have read a lot of technical articles about F1 engine development to try and understand what is going on. So, today I was reading an excellent explanation of the Cosworth DFV quill dampener when the penny dropped. Brian Garvey alias BrianG deserves a big shout out, I have enjoyed his work for years and a technical mind like his is just great to have on board. My favourite is still where he cut up a V10 head to explain pneumatic valve actuation! Recommended reading.

I know....I've just been finishing up digging and dumping gravel outside the doors and trying my best to fend off any and all attempts to expand the scope so I can get back to the car. We're still closed in this part of the state....June 4 maybe is the latest I've read for possible limited reopening. I started a new job back in March just before all this and we work with a company in Brazil which is March was fine....now its the global pandemic hot spot burring the dead in mass graves 3 deep in the city I'd need to go to I heard this morning...WTF????

Anyway, the basement patio has its gravel and it tamped a bit and will pretty much stop there. I still need to add 4" block to the wall, cap stone and stucco base coat then it sits until fall mot likely....maybe the stucco topcoat but I suspect that since the stucco place doesn't deliver that will wait. Oh and fit up the grade a little near the wall....it keep not raining like its supposed and the clay/rock ground is nearly undigable so we'll see...maybe put the sprinkler on it to get it done.

The point of all this though is at the moment I'm out of material....should be time to do some work on the heads for the next few days...should.

No doubt.....got up and into the shop before she woke up to work before I start work.

Picked up the pistons and cleaned off the bench....and noticed the paperwork says the pocket for the exhaust angle is 20 not 21, so as it appeared when i was recutting.
