This is completely irrelevant to anything current, BUT, what is the paint work like on car? Does it shine up nice or is has it loads of battle scars at this stage?

I'm not a mint paintwork queen by any means, and as long as a car is all the same colour and comes up ok with a 20min weekend wash I'm happy,

So how is it?

Brian,

Its a 10-15 foot paint job at this point. Lots or glazing compound and a couple coats of wax over it and it shines......if it runs this year then paint should be next year.

Sounds fine to me so!

Paint? Really? I think this car is going to be so fast, the LAST thing you'll notice is the paint. (If parts don't fall off as you go through the sound barrier!)

Well I guess it's a good sign that I'm at the point where it's even worth wondering about paint

I have been meaning to ask about brakes.
In my estimation you will need something like a 350mm disc to get that thing to stop more than once.

Have you as yet considered brake master cylinder bore diameter as well as brake calipers?

My original plan was 355F/330R and I have parts to do that....but I bought a set of F430 brakes that I like better and they are 330 f/r.

I was going to try a 1.0" master with the stock linkage and see...but I was real sure I'd be able to get the F/R balance right. The new plan is to start with .75 bore....which is probably too small but I want to keep pedal pressure reasonable so.....we'll see and it's easy to change as I'm doing the standard race master setup.

The setup will have an adjustable balance bar and an adjustable proportioning valve so I should be able to get it perfect.

So. The pivot point is going up 2.5", the pedals getting longer by 2.5" and the masters tucked in as tight as I can so it should look neat when it's done.

Some more work done on the pedal box. I still may need to tune it up a little to get it to clear everything that goes around it but it's close now.
