So with the wiring harness looming I've been on a "how much data should I be collecting" metal ordeal.

The ecu CAN collect 14 O2 (cylinders+collectors), 14 EGTs and 14 MAP(cylinders, average, baro) and then more stuff if I spend enough money.....but them Lana would have to kill me and I really don't want that. My compromise thought is I add bungs to the runners and collectors for EGT and O2 but I only buy 3 senors. Normally they go int he collectors with a spare on the shelf but when I'm tuning I can do individual readings on groups of 3. The MAPs I already have stuff to read all 14 points so I might hook them all up. I need to think a little more but that is the way I'm leaning.

More things for my retirement list..

John

Thanks John. Remember I got a head start on this stuff though when I cleverly decided not to go to college out of high school and ended up working as a machinist and one of my machinist jobs was in a fabrication shop which both gave me the chance to see how things were supposed to be done. The down side was that this all led to me working while trying to take classes after/before work and race on weekends. Good preparation for this phase of my life I guess :)

The best engineers out there are those who regularly get their hands dirty out in the field. The worst ones are those who only want to sit in their ivory tower offices; they keep making the same design blunders year after year and don't realise it. Unfortunately the last several generations of graduate engineers don't understand the value of field work.

Probably under the heading of easily impressed and they may have had this forever and I never noticed but I just realized when I click on "wiring" on the help tab I get a screen the tells me what pin I assigned what to when I was going through the setup. It sure makes things easy to remember when you don't need to remember :)

So you're saying you think that's a bad idea then???????

My thought was that 12 coils takes quite a lot of space and 6 double coils would take less and maybe look neater.

What are you thinking I should have?

LS1 coils are quite compact... you've seen pics of them stacked, right?
