Mark, it looks like AEM have two versions of the Infinity 12:
One is called the Infinity-812, and is P/N 30-7111, and it has 12 injector outputs, but only 8 coil outputs. This one costs around $3000
The other is the original Infinity-12, and is P/N 30-7103, and it has the full 12 injector / 12 coil outputs. This one used to cost around $3200
Interestingly, on AEM's website they no longer show the original Infinity-12, only the 812 version, but in their 2014/15 catalog, they still show the original.
I'm pretty sure the infinity-12 is no longer available, only the -812 unless you can fins a -12 kicking around somewhere (I asked Jim at enginelab if he has a 140L kicking around which is the unit that became the -12 but haven't heard back) I think I THINK the infinity-8 that I have has 12 injector drivers with 4 disabled in the AEM firmware but accessible with the enginelab firmware and that is what I need to find out for sure and why I've cleared the bench. There is a chance the spark outputs are there too....but this is less probable I fear.
I'm 100% certain that 2 of the infinity-8h units at $1300 each or-6 at $1400 each is cheaper and gets you more I/O and that the processors are exactly the same. In the past I really didn't want to mess with 2 ECUs because tuning is a bugger but I know prior to the M150/M190 ECUs motec allowed 2 of the M800 ECUs to be used with all the main tuning done in the master and the values sent via CAN to the slave to make it much easier but you still needed to do any cylinder trim stuff directly in the slave unit. Looking at what is available in enginelab I think that idea can be taken 1 step further and do ALL the tuning in the master.
The -8 that I have has 17 analog and 2 knock sensors inputs a pair of -8h/6 units gets you 18 analog an 4 knock or in my case with a -8 & -8h I'd have 26 analog inputs then add the ana2 with 12 more analog inputs and I could be in data collection heaven

First I need to bench test the -8 and see what there is to see, then I'll make a proper plan......but this is low importance than finishing the mechanical stuff.
