Stepping back and looking at it I'm pretty sure the 2 return fittings on top would look better if I cut them off and move them to the opposite side the over near the frame. I'm thinking I should give the whole thing a sanding so it looks more finished. I also need to lower the fill cap as much as I can so it doesn't hit the hood. Lots to do......hopefully the tank will be finished this weekend.

Fittings moved. I decided against the sanding because that will make it look ripply....the tank is thin so not really safe to sand until its smooth and straight so smooth is all I could do and looking it over it will just look ripply.

A couple shots of the fitting work. I bandsawed them off, grind the well off, peeled in the holes, dropped in a disc, welded, sanded. holes gone. Then I welded the fitting back on the other side. I think it looks neater this way.

Off to watch "pumpkin chunkin" with the kids. For those not familiar it involves pumpkins and catapults or trebuchets.....and sometimes cannons :) the world championship was canceled the last 2 years over issues finding insurance, but that doesn't stop local events.

I'll try to get the tank mounted tonight or tomorrow between pool closing activities.

Pumpkins and trebuchets: now that would be some fun! Do they aim at stuff?

Yes they do....actually hitting is another matter

This was a kids event so the results were not that spectacular.....I'm pretty sure I could have thrown them further and with more accuracy

I power up the ecu tonight for some testing and there are definitely 12 fuel outputs - Yay!

but only 10 spark outputs. I found an 11th on the circuit board at one of the resistors I was told to add but the signal isn't getting to the connector and I didn't find the 12th :( email out asking why.

So this morning on my long drive to work it occurred to me that I have too many oil lines. Stock is pump out to block. Then I needed to move the oil filter and added filter out and filter in......which I think means:

pump > block in > block out> filter> block in

it should be:
pump > filter > block in

I need to fix that by capping a couple holes on the block....well...I don't NEED need to , but my OCD means I need to

I sort this out in my "I'm awake but can't make noise withouth getting in trouble time" this morning. Luckily it was the front hose that was not needed as it's a bit easier to get to the fitting. Also luckily I had a an M22x1.5 plug on hand....odd the kind of stuff I just find on the bench. I need another plug for the side of the block but that won't hold anything up and really the plugs are just so there's no hole....they don't seal anything.

I also reinstalled the oil return pum that hand to be off to get the engine in the car and started laying out the hose.....there is a lot going on in a small space around the pump....I need to check with the wheel on too, its really tight IIRC. Progress though.

I tried to be strong....but I beat it pretty straight and sanded it pretty nice. I also added another notch to the back so it fits a little nicer. Now its time to mount it.

Holy crap there is some effort gone into those devices: that thing with all the garage door opener springs is amazing!

Nothing like that in my part of the world.
