It will be time to (try to) start the engine.....so it shouldn't matter is Lana turns off the welder



A week or 2 at the most. I've been putting the fabrication work at the top of the list because it generally means part come on and off a lot and I don't know exactly what order final assembly needs to be until I have a final assembly.....which I pretty much now do. I mentions a bracket for the t-stat housing, that will use 2 bolts form one of the covers or I'll add something to the intake of intake mount. Once I decide that question it will be time for Brian G's spectacular covers. I thought I would be putting the throttle actuator there, but now think I'll put that on the passenger side. Lots of little things to do

How do you plan to fill the cooling system? I don't see a bleed or fill port at the top of the thermostat housing, which is where it needs to be at that end of the car. I would expect that the thermo housing is the highest point in the whole system, so you'll have to fill from the engine.

It fills though the expansion tank which is the highest point just like stock. Then I added a boss to the top of the t-stat housing, but I didn't drill it yet, that's part of the clean up work I need to finish. There is also bleeder at the top of the radiator.

I finished that up and reused the original bleeder screw. And also cleaned up the coolant tube.

Today it turns out. I decided the bracket should use the cover bolts so I need the covers on. Then I discovered the full effect of all the material I've removed from the head and cam cover.....the gaskets and therefore Brain's covers don't really fit.

Off to the mill to move the holes and the 2 are done. Then I tore out a helicoil putting the first one one There was enough depth to put a new coil in and use a longer stud

...then I realized I'm out of acorn nuts I stole 3 from the cam cover. It just was not my day today but the cover looks great! Brain did a fantastic job.

and my care package from summit arrived!

the 180 fittings back ordered so at least 1 more week before I can finish the oil lines and the "1 1/2" x 25" straight hose" I ordered to cut up to make the couplings I need for the coolant lines turned out to be a flex hose which is pretty much useless to me so installing cooling lines will be delays a bit too.

Oh well....back tr making a support bracket and making the other 2 covers fit.

I made up the T-stat support bracket, gave the whole thing a quick cleanup and got the last to covers to fit. I need acorn nuts and an adapter for the oil pressure sender and I'll be ready to final install all this stuff.
