Mark, if you haven't worked it out yet we are patient people.

Most of us have been with you through Fchat, Flife and here.

While it doesn't always go right we are are right behind you all the way.

You will get there, it just takes time.

John

All the exhaust valves are gone.....that seems like a set in the wropng direction but hopefully it works out.

Continured lapping intakes last night....9 cylinders down, 3 to go. Without any exhaust valves I can't check them so I'll let that wait and do the intakes and exhausts together.

yet another post without pics, but the intakes are all lapped now and that just didn't make much of a photo-Op.

I feel bad about all the posts without any pics at all and the long long time since I've post pisc of carnages....so carnage tonight.

The timing cover i a bugger, I recall it took me 11 hours to install it flexing everything as much as possible to get enough room to sort of get in with a wrench...it was awful. The pan is supposed to be off but I can't do it that way on my setup but even that it would suck. So tonight I kind of eyeballed where I thought the bolts were that hold the gear assembly that caused all the trouble. then drilled exploratory holes, then big holes to get a socket on the bolts. Then bolts off and the cover comes right off.

I'll need to make some plugs of some kind to close the holes and probably convert the studs to bols so there is no chance of dropping a nut or washer inside the engine but this seems much better.

There is a bold in the oil pump I couldn't get a bolt in because it was too close to the frame, I'll turn that around too while I'm fixing stuff.

Maybe some good news on valves. Art came through by just offering to help. This morning I sent an email to Art copying the valve vendor, who forwarded to the valve supplier.... my phone rang a few hours later and the supplier says 24 valves are shipping today. 12 were no charge to replace the 12 I bought and 12 at 1/2 price for the other head so I have a matching set. Apparently the design rev'd way back in 2009 so I had pretty old inventory from the beginning

Fingers crossed......

I'm on vacation until the year so vacation stuff.......like working on the engine :)

This morning I welded up where I missed the location on the 3 access holes and 1 needed the back thickened up so I could tap the holes M22. I'll order some plugs and clean it up a bit more and it's done.
