first Facebook?...oh the shame of it!

 I cross post most stuff too

Its good the see progress! There appears to be a surprising amount of space to work in.....have some of the other projects gone away?

Then what does the plan look like? I know you're planning frame and suspension work which is usually done on a flat surface....has the plan changed or???

My apologies for the late reply - I've been busy...

The extra space is mostly due to a tidy up - the Aston went a couple of years ago, the Land Rover is kept outside now as it's my daily driver (three dogs to run and lots of night shooting to be done), the body from the black Maserati was cut up and disposed of as it was too badly damaged to be of any use, and the silver Maserati is rammed into the back of the garage as my emergency spares supply!

So - the plan is this:

Get the stands and inner frames for the rotisserie made and tested (as per the photos, this is now done)

Put the engine back in (done) and make dummy mounts for it and the transmission so that I can establish for certain things like the driveshaft lengths, the gearchange cable lengths, the positions of the fuel tanks, intercoolers, air filter boxes, air filter inlet and outlet duct requirements, where the roll bars are going to sit, where the pedal box has to sit so that I can still get my feet under the steering column with the Toyota Prius electric power steering in place, where the hand brake and gear change gate need to be mounted, how much of the front body support structure has to be cut away to allow the radiator to fit in behind the nose at the angle I want it (i.e. sloped with the top facing forwards). Almost all this is now done.

Still to do in this phase is:
Re-engineer the steering tie rods/track rod ends so that all is as it should be.
Rebuild the original Koni shock absorbers and fit the uprated springs so that I can finalise the lower mounts (the upper ones are being left untouched)
I have the front and rear roll cage hoops done - now I need to understand where the rest of it is going - that is, the diagonal struts from them to the front and rear shock towers.
Work out how I'm going to mount the Syvecs ECU and DI module as well as the front and rear power distribution modules

The next phase is to strip everything back out and prep the car to go off for an acid bath. Since the Dino has a tubular frame with a steel skin welded over it, I have little choice but to go with this process; the usual types of blasting can't reach the bits that need reaching...

Once it's back from the acid dip, the real work will start - I've already built a chassis jig for it to go on while the fabrication is underway.

In the meantime, I'm trying to recover from having eaten too much Christmas turkey...
